Channel Ident
Concept Treatment
This concept takes influence from Comedy Central's early branding where the grit and grunge of the 1990s urban street aesthetic were in full swing. The first video features a textured brick wall with more modern, sophisticated 'graffiti' that pays homage to the network's origins.
Keeping inline with the network's fun and offbeat personality, 3D animations create a bright and oddball environment as the logo begins to magically assemble itself.
The contrast between the clean, modern design and comedic, cartoon sound design creates a light-hearted yet bizarre tone that aims to engage the audience both visually and aurally.
The typography utilizes a sans-serif typeface, Amman Sans Pro, which features the occasional kink in several letter forms, reinforces the overall visual tone, and adds a unique twist on the standard sans-serif design aesthetic.

Roast of Kayne West Campaign
In addition to the general brand package, a special event promotional campaign for Comedy Central's Roast provides an example of how to tailor the branding for specific content across the channel.
Kanye West is one of the biggest names in hip hop, and his larger-than-life ego and god-complex make him a perfect candidate for a Comedy Central Roast.
This package takes inspiration from West’s iconic ‘shutter-shades’ which is the focus of the design. Neon typography creates a night-life tone which is often associated with hip-hop culture.
